A Hidden Oasis at 30 St. Clair Ave. W
Most office buildings have spaces people simply walk through. At 30 St. Clair, one overlooked corridor became an opportunity to create something entirely different.

Working alongside a building manager who believed every corner of the property could enrich the experience of the people who use it, we transformed the space into a lush garden retreat. Tucked beneath the shelter of the surrounding buildings, the garden offers a cool, shaded escape, with pockets of sunlight where employees can pause, enjoy their lunch, or simply reconnect with nature before heading back inside.

Designed specifically for the site's unique micro climate, the garden is filled with shade-loving edible plants, pollinator habitat, and layered planting that brings life, texture, and biodiversity to a space that was previously generating little positive impact.Â

Making Every Corner Count.
a place to gather, recharge
and give back.

Throughout the growing season, employee planting days, harvest celebrations, and hands-on workshops invite people to step outside, reconnect with nature, and experience the simple satisfaction of growing food together. Herbs and vegetables harvested from the garden are shared with local food banks, extending the impact beyond the property itself.

What makes this project successful isn't simply the planting—it's the partnership. Through a long-standing partnership with a building manager who continually looks for new ways to engage employees, the garden has become a place where people learn and give back. Together, we've shown that even the smallest urban spaces can become places of generosity as well as gathering.
